After the Kiss (Stiletto #1) by Lauren Layne

After the Kiss (Stiletto #1)
by
Julie Greene loves flings. Loves steamy first dates, sizzling first kisses, and every now and then, that first sexy romp between the sheets. Comfy pants, sleepy Sundays, movie nights on the couch? Shudder. But when Julie gets assigned the hardest story of her career—a first-person account of that magical shift between dating and "I do"—she'll need a man brave enough to give a total commitment-phobe a chance at more.

Normally, Mitchell Forbes would be exactly that man. A devastatingly hot workaholic who tends to stay in relationships for far too long, he should be the perfect subject for Julie's "research." But what Julie doesn't know is that Mitchell is looking to cut loose for once in his life. And the leggy journalist notorious for avoiding love is exactly the type of no-strings fling he's looking for. In other words, Mitchell is the polar opposite of what Julie needs right now. And, at the same time, he's exactly what she wants.

So I loved this book but the author is probably going to hate me because if you have

So I loved this book, yes I know I’ve already written that but there is no harm in writing it again. I actually read first before I caught on that there was a previous series with some of the characters so I back tracked and am starting from the beginning.

Julie Greene works for Stiletto’s America’s most popular glam rag. Camille her editor has a new story for her “How to take a relationship to the next level?” Her problem?

She has built her a career out of falling in love. Staying in love? Not so much. Julie loves her job and works with two of her friends Riley and Grace (they have books as well) they are the Dating, Love and Sex department or as the blokes say Kiss, Cuddle and Fuck. The other problem with the article for the August issue?

Her grown up nemesis Kelli (with an I and not a y, thank you very much) is her back up so if it doesn’t work out she will step in. Over Julie’s dead body. So while at a function they come up with the ingenious plan that Julie should go undercover like that doesn’t have disaster written all over it with a capital D!

Her target boring old Joe, Mitchell ‘Wall Street’ Forbes. Mitchell Forbes has his life all planned out for him until he wakes up one morning with a girlfriend she doesn’t want and a life that bores him to death and said same function. He makes a bet for Yankee seats that he can have a fling. Julie knows all the moves and head tilting and fake laughs to get the guys all guys apart from Mitchell Forbes.

Julie isn’t Mitchell’s type but he starts to realise that there is more to life than checking your weekly life plan with your significant other. They go on their five dates and things start to change. They show one another the real person that they are.

There were loads of funny moments, touching moments, sweet moments and as all things it was clear that it would come out but not how and it was well planned how. I thought that I wouldn’t like Julie because she is really shallow but there is more to her than expected the same applied for Mitchell.

I liked them together and I liked them separately as well. But Mitchell was mean. The rat bastard did apologise in the end. So I’m off to read book 2.
