In a Ranger's Arms (The Men of At Ease Ranch #1) by by Donna Michaels

Goodreads Review

Former Army Ranger Stone Mitchum doesn’t have time for sex. Since starting a company with his brother and two buddies, he’s had more important things on his mind. Like transitioning veterans back into society. But when his curvy new tenant falls into his arms—literally—his libido snaps to attention.

Jovy Larson has four weeks to prove she’s worthy of taking over the family business. Her challenge? Sell gluten-free, vegan food—in the middle of cattle country, Texas. It’s a tough task, but not half as tough as fighting her attraction to her sexy, surly landlord.

Before she knows it, Jovy’s tangling sheets with the hot cowboy, stalked by a jealous cow, and strategizing ways to help Stone’s ranch. But by the time her lease runs out and the test is over, she’s faced with a new challenge…competing against Stone’s sense of duty to win his heart.

Where to start?
For starters I’m in the minority here.  I truly wish that it would be different but alas it isn’t. I know, I know we can’t like every book we read but sometimes you see why everyone else does and then you just don’t get why you don’t.
Stone Jackass Mitchum is ex-military turned cowboy is offering a safe haven for veterans who need a fresh start. A place to stay, to heal and to work with Foxtrot Construction.  Stone, Brick, Vince & Cord founded Foxtrot together. After a tragic incident Stone has put his life on hold. No matter what he thinks that would have happened. People find a way no matter the obstacle. But getting back to Stone.
All business and no play makes Stone a very dull rock.
His friends are urging him to go out and well get laid. But there is a special someone.
There was only one girl in his life right now. She was big and sweet, with the warmest chocolate-brown eyes that melted his heart. Lula Belle. The cute black-and-white cow he always stopped to feed. Catching his scent, the old girl stopped grazing and turned toward him.
He’s off to town to collect the rent so that Foxtrot can do more for veterans.
Jovy Larson has been sent to Texas to sell Vegan food in a county filled with steak, sausages, bacon and anything meat. She has 4 weeks to prove that she can run a successful business to take over Larson Industries. She is getting her café ready until a hit and moo throws her into the arms.
Their attraction is instant when Stone catches Jovy. But then thanks to foot/mouth syndrome it goes south pretty quick.
My annoyance started when they both kept on repeating that they were not interested. Jovy had been there done that she was leaving in four weeks. Yeah we get it sweetheart you’re leaving in 4 weeks now shut up and save a horse ride a cowboy.
Stone’s whole I can’t because of everyone else needing him. Come on be selfish. I know that is also what makes him a good guy. But still grated on my nerves. And he wouldn’t have been able to stop it.
There are funny moments here and the book is enjoyable and I would recommend reading it. As I wrote it’s just not for me.

P.S. What were their parents thinking? Stone & Brick I mean really come on. I can accept Stone but Brick?

I’m wasn’t getting any inspiration on this one.
